it all. With a population of more than one million, Ottawa has all the amenities
of a big city while remaining clean, friendly and easy to navigate. The
famous ByWard Market area features a fresh fruit and vegetable market, and along
with the Elgin Street district, it s a hotspot for nightlife, with clubs and
restaurants throughout.
Algonquin College in the Ottawa Valley is
surrounded by majestic natural beauty and located in the City of Pembroke on the
Ottawa River. This small town campus is a leader in outdoor adventure training
but is grounded in more traditional programming like business, technology,
health and community studies.
Algonquin College Heritage Institute
offers courses in millwork, stone carving, heritage restoration, as well as
courses in business, community and health studies - all taught at our small,
friendly campus in the historic town of Perth.
You ll find many
opportunities to stay active and have fun at Algonquin. We have men s and
women s varsity teams in basketball, volleyball, soccer, and curling. Our teams
have been Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) provincial finalists or
champions in all sports in the last few years, and Canadian Colleges Athletic
Association (CCAA) National Champions in men s soccer in the 2002 03
season.
If you d prefer to play recreationally, we have a selection
of intramural sports for all levels. Algonquin students also have access to the
Fitness Zone, a 20,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility featuring workout
equipment, personal trainers, dry saunas and everything you need to help keep
