President's Message
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Brandon
University as the 14th President and Vice-Chancellor of the University. Please
take the opportunity to browse through our newly redesigned website and find out
about all of the exciting programs and activities happening this year at
BU.
As a new President, I was attracted to Brandon University because of
the rich heritage, the size of the institution and the commitment of Brandon
faculty and staff to the personalized education of the whole person. The
twenty-first century challenges graduates to be adaptive, nimble and flexible in
responding to radical economic and environmental shifts in Canada and around the
world. It also requires that graduates have a clear sense of themselves as
persons of integrity and as moral agents and active citizens working toward a
civil and sustainable global society.
Brandon University offers students
the opportunity to engage in education and skill development in a number of
fields within the humanities, social sciences, professional programs and the
arts. It does so with an appreciation of the importance of the individual
learner and of the cultural diversity of the population of
Manitoba.
Graduates of BU know that they can start here and go
anywhere.
