Highlands campus is tucked away in a residential area overlooking the beautiful
North Saskatchewan River valley, minutes from downtown by public or private
transportation. It's the best of both worlds: a peaceful locale within easy
reach of the countless amenities of city center.

Edmonton Mall and the popular market, cafés, and pubs in Old Strathcona. The
mountains, forests, lakes, and grasslands of Alberta's spectacular landscape

President's Message Welcome to
Concordia!
This is an exciting time of your life, and an exciting time of
year. Everyone has a fresh start: students, faculty, staff, and even the season.
It's a time of change. You will learn new concepts, and explore ideas you have
never considered.
One thing that has not changed in 88 years is
Concordia's commitment to the highest standards of education. The Globe and Mail
Annual University Report attests to the fact that our faculty is second to none
in Canada. The Arnold Guebert Library is an integral part of the NEOS library
system effectively making nearly all of Alberta's library part of ours. Our
state-of-the-art IT infrastructure keeps you connected, and provides the
resources necessary for a modern learning environment. You are well provided
for. Now it's up to you.
You have made a wise choice to come to
Concordia. It's often said that, in elementary schools, a classroom should not
exceed 30 students. For some reason, this idea has not translated to the
university setting, where extremely large classes force students to fend for
their academic lives. At Concordia, we value everyone as an individual, and
recognize that a personal touch is important. Take advantage of Concordia's
small size and be nurtured with a "customized" education experience: it's the
best anywhere.
As you are challenged in the classroom, I also encourage
you to take the opportunity to be challenged outside the classroom. Concordia
offers opportunities like chapel, choir, theatre, clubs, and the Concordia
Students' Association. Consider getting involved with the Alumni Association,
which keeps you in touch with your new Concordia family now, and after you
graduate.
Most importantly, Concordia, as a Christian university, is
dedicated to embracing you, by caring not just for your intellectual
development, but also your spiritual, and physical well-being. By providing a
high quality of learning, research, and service, Concordia is not just "a"
university, it's YOUR university.
I hope and pray that your time at
Concordia will be better, more enriching, and fulfilling than you dared to
imagine. Have a great year!
Dr. Gerald S. Krispin, President |
