Aalborg University encompasses three faculties, under which all research and
educational activities take place. Each faculty is organised into a number of
departments, centres and schools, which work with specific scientific areas
within the faculty s main areas. Likewise, the boards of studies - which are
responsible for the various study programmes - are also organised under each
faculty. The three faculties are each headed by a dean.
As of January 1,
2007 the Danish Building Research Institute (SBi) is also a part of Aalborg
