NORTH KARELIA UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES

North Karelia University of Applied Sciences (NKUAS) is the easternmost University of Applied Sciences in Finland and the European Union. We operate in North Karelia, which is itself the easternmost province of Finland. Our goal is to produce a high quality and efficient response to the demands of modern working life. Maintained by the city of Joensuu, NKUAS is a higher education institution that receives its funding from the Ministry of Education. North Karelia University of Applied Sciences recognises the opportunities open to well-trained experts in the developing technological, business and cultural environment. In this way it ensures a firm foundation for the challenges of the future.

North Karelia University of Applied Sciences is well located, surrounded by innovative enterprises, a traditional and active cultural life, and unspoiled nature. In addition, its well-developed know-how concerning EU-programmes makes its position unique when compared to many other educational institutions in the region.

We have approximately 4000 students and 400 staff members altogether.
