Mission Statement
The mission of the University of Jyväskylä is, on the
basis of research, to seek for truth and to produce and disseminate new
knowledge, focusing on the enhancement and renewal of cultural heritage, as well
as on educational, professional and research expertise and societal
effectiveness.
The university is a responsible and interactive science
community pursuing a deeper understanding of natural phenomena, human beings and
their actions, as well as tehcnology, and transferring the knowledge and skills
thus gained to the use of people and institutions.
The university
operates as a multidisciplinary academic community dedicated to contributing to
educational, social and cultural advancement and to supporting people in their
life-long growth in humanity, responsibility and understanding. To achieve this,
the university promotes a healthy and balanced interaction between the
individual, technology and nature, and strives to meet the challenges rising
from developing human technologies and multidisciplinarity. |
