AGS Mission Statement The American Graduate School in Paris (AGS) is a
not-for-profit institution which acts for the advancement of higher education
and research in the fields of international relations, diplomacy, business and
economics.
AGS seeks to promote the complementarities between those sets
of disciplines, by providing future actors of international business with a good
understanding of the cultural, social and political context of the countries
with which they will interact, as well as providing future diplomats and
practitioners of international relations with a good knowledge of the business
component of the international arena.
AGS is committed to maintaining the
highest standards of academic excellence. This applies to the selection of
faculty and students as well as to the entire educational process.
As an
American institution located in Paris, AGS is dedicated to participating in
Transatlantic exchanges and links the domain of education.
At the heart
of its mission, AGS values cultural diversity. By drawing its faculty and
students from different countries, AGS sheds a multi-cultural perspective on the
disciplines taught and fosters mutual understanding of different
cultures.
American Education, French Setting, International
Experience The American Graduate School in Paris offers US higher education
in France to students from around the world.
AGS has two specialized
schools: the American Graduate School of International Relations and Diplomacy,
and the American Graduate School of Business and Economics.
While
maintaining the highest academic standards, both schools focus on the two
features that make AGS unique: individual attention to every student, and
providing them with a multi-cultural experience in and out of the
classroom.
AGS was created with the vision of providing a high quality
education in the fields of international relations and diplomacy as well as
business and economics to an international population of students and
professionals. By gathering under its auspices these disciplines, AGS seeks to
promote the complementarities between them and educate future actors of the
international community with a global approach to the world affairs.
AGS
operates under the United States educational system and is registered in France
as a Private Institution of Higher Education. It offers programs modelled on the
American style of teaching while taking advantage of the cultural and academic
resources of Paris and France. All courses are taught in English; no knowledge
of the French language is required for admission. Students enrolled in the
school have the opportunity to learn French along with the
program. Individual attention
Classes at AGS are small in order to
allow for individual attention and close student-professor interaction. The AGS
faculty as well as the administration knows every student and is dedicated to
ensuring for each one a successful experience in Paris and in the
program. Multi-cultural experience
Both the faculty and the student
body are drawn from many countries on all continents, providing multiple
perspectives on the disciplines taught, an international classroom environment,
and fostering what is at the very heart of the AGS mission: cultural diversity
and exchange. |
